Generic drugs are the replication of brand-name drugs which have same dosage, similar use, risk and safety factors as the brand drug.

An example of a generic drug, one used for heart disease, is accupril. A brand name for accupril is Quinapril Hydrochloride. A generic drug, one used for glaucoma, is alphagan, whereas a brand name for the same drug is Brimoidine.

Generally people may think that generic drugs are cheap because it may have less quality than the Brand drugs. But according to the FDA(US Food and Drug Administration) every drug must meet there guidelines of safety and effectiveness as their brand names.

Then why is it cheaper? It is cheaper because the manufacturers had not spent on research. So this is the only reason for the low cost generic drugs in generic pharmacy.
